I am SWAPNIL,
I don't have anything against anybody,
I am clumsiness and confusion personified.
While at times being a paranoid perfectionist
I am the most languorous,languid,harum-scarum,higgledy-piggledy,screwed up,nebulous
and chaotic living organism I know !!
While being the best workaholic you could find,I am very pococurante and quite prudent at the same time.
I see quite a bit but try not to judge anything.
I claim to be innocent, I have power,

I do not come from the past,
but surely,
I am the FUTURE.

I'm a genius, but I'm a misunderstood genius... now you're gonna ask what's misunderstood about me? Now.. my problem is Nobody thinks I'm a genius. You know how people are. They only recognize greatness when some authority confirms it. Okay, I am a lazy kinda person but inspite of that, why should I have to WORK for everything?! It's like saying I don't deserve it! Okay, I like doing some things, but then people try to take advantage of me and heap me with things that I might not like to do..
## If you do the job badly enough, sometimes you don't get asked to do it again. Reality continues to ruin my life.
Ok, enough of Calvinism.. shouldn't the old school of be revived with this new found definition?

Hey folks.. this world is a kind of place which could be heaven if you have the right company and hell if you don't.Its networking that's gonna take you places... I love meeting new people.. to connect and do sensible talk, think business and make friends too. This is SWAPNIL SAHOO. An obvious introduction, I am presently a project engineer at WIPRO.. right after finishing my graduation from iter bhubaneshwer.., a not so good boy at quite good a place. I am not too much of studies person, just got lucky to have reached here, and 'sigh' that's when and where the lucky charm got lost! Its funny to imagine now that I've sailed this far.. though being breathlessly close to drowning at times! While I am pretty cool a person, you better not mess with me! (SAGGITARIan tendencies at work here)Life at ITER was a mixture of so many things altogether, and I've been all the while doing a little bit of this, a little bit of that! Academics and good grades have always eluded me.. and I am not too good of a sports person or cult guy either?
Then what am I?
I am trying to figure out, and will shout it aloud to the world soon as I do!
Yeah, the interesting aspect to life in there came from the adventures. College life can be fun, if you know how to go about it. I am the adventurous kind, well to give some credence have been warned by railway cops not to jump out of a running train even if you know you are going opposite to your destination!! Besides, the variety of situations that you land up are adventures of their own kind! I then indulged myself in a whole lot of organizational activities. Though the most lazy person in my own definitions, I still dare to call myself a workaholic when I like my work. I've been associated with the activities of quiz, debate, extempore and musical skits!!!
The tenure as Events Manager with our Annual day and as a participant of a musical skit based on the dreadfull TSUNAMI that rocked the south asian coasts on the wee hours of 24th december,2004 were the most interesting of all these. Along with this excitement, it also gave me the best of working experiences.. and some very important lessons in handling responsibilities.. including loads of smart communication, handling people of all kinds.. and paying attention to details.. celebrating your success and failures too!
WORK SURE DOES TAKE YOU PLACES MAN!
And then.. life asked me to move on!
And so I move on.. with one philosophy..
" When fate hands you a lemon, try to make a lemonade!"
Okay, so I am now out and dead set to be an entrepreneur! I don't know my directions yet.. I thought it was high time I decided my routes... but still haven't quite found my calling. I don't know what I'm gonna do.. but it sure is gonna be something good... something exciting and ................
So, if you want to discuss business ideas.. I'm in! I've been reading about business plans for like ages now.. so I can analyse your business idea from top to bottom.. in and out.. and we can take it from there! Even otherwise.. if you'd like to talk about street photography.. or philosophy or the state of our nation... or to debate or discuss anything.. i'm game for good conversations all the time..
My current state of mind finds a weird but interesting analogy in the works of Lewis Caroll..
'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?''
That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where --' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.'
--so long as I get somewhere,' Alice added as an explanation.
~ Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
But I'm sure, I'm not the only one facing this dilemma.. just that the others haven't realized it yet!
Are YOU one???

A Kipling creation that has been a motivation in tough times.. It does seem to cover quite a few phases of an exciting (my kinda) life!

' If '
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

Something that really suited my situation and got me thinking.. given my disillusion with academics at IITB....
DON'T RUN AWAY FROM SOMETHING, IF YOU'RE RUNNING TOWARDS SOMETHING, YOU'LL DO FINE.
And then there's a little to my perverted, vagabond and unconventional self...
Learn the rules well, so you know how to break them properly.

I haven't really been able to comprehend this one completely... but just found it a beautiful quote:
"There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." -- Albert Einstein
As Tennyson simply put it.. whether it be business.. or love, The shell must break before the bird can fly..
Would someone be kind enough to go explain this to my parents???????
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. " -- Helen Keller

Something from the Scriptures.....:
We're too happy to dismiss our own traditionally valued knowledge as sacrosanct, and taking to heart the fundaes given by modern day management gurus. Though I am not quite proactive about it.. I strongly believe that if we get into intellectual analyses.. we'll rediscover Lord Krishna as an excellent manager.. Mahabharat.. as manual to give lessons in lots of modern day situations.. I'll just quote a few things from Geeta here..to drive home the point.. to a little extent
All modern day stress on anger management.. mentioned in an age old scripture.. as the geeta says:
From anger arises Delusion, from delusion, bewilderment of memory, when memory is bewildered.. intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost.. you lead yourself to your own doom!
Speak with austerity, while making sure you're not upsetting others.. or even yourself.
Speak in an inoffensive, pleasant and beneficial manner, with an up-to-date knowledge of what you're talking about.
One who is ignorant, lacks faith and is full of doubt.. is bound to perish.
Yoga is to remain content, and yet determinate.
Yoga is to rise above personal expectations and mere self-interest.
Yoga is to be enterprising!
Yoga is the pursuit of perfection in work, with utmost care and intelligence. (irrespective of what you're doing)
Yet, all of us look at the prescription of being a 'Yogi' with a lot of skepticism, dismissing a 'Yogi' as a long bearded, clad in saffron wise man.. who's given up on the worldly pleasures! You can be a yogi, right in the middle of your worldly affairs.. personal and proffessional!
(Get in touch with me... if you want to know the sanskrit counterparts of the above quotes or even if you want to discuss these ideas further)
If things go wrong, I did it
If things go well, we did it,
If things go great, you did it!

Something about love?

There is hardly any activity, any enterprise, which is started out with such tremendous hopes and expectations, and yet which fails so regularly, as love.
'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. -Lord Tennyson
*~Trying to forget someone you love is like trying to remember someone you never knew~*
To love is nothing. To be loved is something. To love and be loved is everything.

Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers eyes;
Being vex d a sea nourish d with lovers tears
What is it else? a madness most discreet,
A choking gall and a preserving sweet.
-William Shakespeare
If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were.~ Kahlil Gibran
Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.~ Franklin P. Jones

The RoseSome say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed. Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed. Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.I say love, it is a flower, and You its only seed. It's the heart, afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance. It's the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance. It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give. And the soul, afraid of dyin', that never learns to live. When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomesThe Rose.

Alright, enough about thoughts and ideas.. coming back to the real world... I have also of late developed an interest in photography... I just completely love my digicam... and then.. there's something about having an eye for photography it seems.. the world starts to seem quite beautiful.. things that you hadn't noticed so far.. seem to bring out the smiling face of life... with every morning.. with every sunrise. If you like my work.. do have a look at more of it at my blog
Nazaareand let me know how you like that.
Some things from across the lens (the LCD rather)

Which looks sweeter? The smile or the ice cream??

So little is sufficient for happiness and we want disney worlds..

Tension free sleep.. a bliss indeed!

a smile.. amidst all the worries of the world

to decorate a birthday party or a wedding stage.. or a deathbed its only Rs. 125

The pleasure of being an artist.. someone did say.. work is worship..

Wouldn't a ban on child labour deprive this boy of his livelihood?

selling smiles.. selling roses..

abhi khaane ke shauk ki umra hai.. and he's busy selling it for money!

Its just our family business..

A little shade in this scorching heat.. also feels like luxury

Life's like that... you are always capable of handling all your burdens.. however heavy they might seem

Alright, this guy sure means business!

Is this thought a little misled??

We Indians.. are always good at mixing up east and west..at times messing up both.. and at times extracting the excellence

Experimenting with a shadow..

Alright, so these are only a few of the products of my Fuji finepix F 402.. a wonderful piece indeed:
